Nanook of the North

This pioneering documentary film depicts the lives of the indigenous Inuit people of Canada's northern Quebec region. Although the production contains some fictional elements, it vividly shows how its resourceful subjects survive in such a harsh climate, revealing how they construct their igloo homes and find food by hunting and fishing. The film also captures the beautiful, if unforgiving, frozen landscape of the Great White North, far removed from conventional civilization.

Winter

During another snowless winter, a famous freeride skier has a chance encounter with two kids on the street, which prompts him to dig through his grandfather's old family albums, capturing the snowy winters of the past. Immersing himself in the photos, the young man is transported to the parallel world of the winter mountains. Is winter irretrievably lost?

And Glen Plake and Scot Scmidt's pivotal appearance on NBC's Today Show where the word and concept of "extreme" exploded into the consciousness of mainstream America. From Leni Riefenstahl in the 1930's (who made the first ski film) through Otto Lang, John Jay, Warren Miller and what the young ski film makers are creating today, "Legend" follows the life of the ski film and impact on big mountain skiing.
